Website Design & Development – FAQs
Is a website really necessary in 2020?
Google reports that around 7 out of 10 people today search for you online before they contact you. No matter if a friend referred your business or they saw an advertisement, people will still Google you before they call your number. Your website is your modern day shop front and it’s where your prospective customers will typically get their first impression of you. Sadly, you won’t get a second chance to make a great impression.
So yes, in 2020 it’s more important than ever to have a professional, consumer facing website.
All of my work comes from word-of-mouth. How will a website help me?
Referrals play a huge part in making sales. However, statistics tell us that even if you have come recommended, that person is still going to search for you online, before they call you. A professional website, will help you seal the deal.
How much will a website cost?
Honestly, there is no one single answer to this question as there are so many variables. It really depends on what you require for your individual project. We quote our website builds based on the particular requirements of your project.
To be as transparent as possible, we list as a pricing guideline our website design and development services page. But, if you wish to work with us, we’ll first ask a lot of questions, assess your needs, and give you a quote based on that assessment.
Do you build your websites from scratch?
Yes and no. It really depends on your requirements and budget.
For our smaller website based projects, we use premium WordPress or Shopify themes, then customise the colour, graphics, and layout to give you an original website.
For our larger web projects, we custom design and develop to give you a bespoke web presence.
How long will my website take to build?
Typically for a small website of up to 5 pages, the project can be completed within two weeks. Larger projects will take longer. It all depends on the type of project and if you have all your ducks in a row to move the project forward.
We remain in constant communication with you about the progress of your website and if you are quick to respond to our requests, then the project will run much faster and smoother. We advise you of this in our project onboarding documentation.
Do I have to be local to your area to work with you?
Absolutely not. From our home base in the Barossa Valley, we work with clients in every corner of Australia. Such is the beauty of technology.
If you have an internet connection and a phone, we can assist you. We’ve worked with remote business across all time frames in our states and territories.
Do you build mobile friendly websites?
Yes, of course we do. We build mobile friendly (responsive) websites which are viewable across all devices – PC’s, laptops, mobiles.
Responsive simply means it fits or adapts to the size of the screen on which it is being viewed – one website viewable on many devices. It’s mobile friendly!
Do you offer support once the website is launched?
Will my website be SEO friendly?
Do you only build WordPress websites?
No we don’t. Depending on your needs, we will advise the best solution for your project.
We do however, love working with WordPress as it’s an extremely versatile content management system that now powers more than 30% of websites on the internet. Don’t worry, we’ll teach you how to manage it or any other content management system you agree on to help you along the way.
Do I have to sign a contract?
Yes, we do ask that you sign an agreement, however we keep it as simple as possible and as our previous clients can attest – it’s written in plain, simple to understand terms.
We will always do our best to fulfill your needs and meet your goals, but sometimes it’s best to have a few things written down so that we both know what’s what, who should do what and what happens if stuff goes wrong. In our agreements, you won’t find complicated legal terms or long passages of unreadable text. We want what’s best for the safety of both parties, now and in the future.
Do you offer payment options?
We do offer a variety of payment options varying from:
- An upfront payment
- Three instalments of 60% on start of project, 20% four weeks in and then final payment on launch of project
- Weekly instalment payments for up to six months
We understand that this is a big investment and want to help you budget for the expense in whatever way possible.
